Back O’ The Moon Resort is a Minnesota fishing resort located on Bass Lake in Cohasset, MN. Bass Lake offers excellent angling opportunities for panfish, walleye, northern, largemouth bass, jumbo perch and crappie. It is well-known for the large size of its bluegill! The DNR-enacted limit of 5 sunfish/bluegill per person on Bass Lake continues to promote the quality of this great sunfish fishery. Walleye and northern fishing are excellent, and the largemouth bass action on the lake is fantastic. Largemouth usually become active in the late spring as the water temperature begins to rise and are at their most aggressive as the lake temperature begins to cool in the fall.

Bass Lake is a 2,400 acre lake with a maximum depth of 76 feet and average water clarity of 10.75 feet. It is a lake comprised of two basins connected by a wide, shallow channel that is navigable by boat. The upper basin is deeper and has a hard bottom whereas the lower basin is more shallow, with softer bottom and more aquatic vegetation. Our resort is located on the northern shore of the upper basin of Bass Lake. From south to north the lake stretches approximately 7 miles.

The resort has tackle, live bait, gas and oil available at the lodge. We have a fish cleaning house and plenty of freezer space to store your catch. Boat and motor rentals are available and we offer a private boat ramp for launching your own boat. There is plenty of dock space and good fishing right off the dock.
